some photos of the Big Day!

Some photos of the day.

It went really well, apart from a small hiccup in the morning when we couldn't read the computer screen, and had to guess what we were typing into the terminal to get burnstation going. After that, it was smooth sailing really.
Over the two days, we burned, and gave to the public, about 50 Music CD's. It was great getting to talk to the public, and give something to them that wasn't a stupid flyer, or money off vouchers. Free music is always a good thing.

Video on the way very soon

Result!

So our bunny burner burnstation was up an running to the public tuesday in the marshes shopping centre and Wednesday in the DKIT college and it went really well. On day one in the Marshes we had some problems with the computers a the start but luckily it was still quiet. Once we got it working the public starting coming over to use it slowly but surely!the people that burnt their own cd's were impressed with the idea and the music. Also because it took roughly ten minutes to burn a cd,we decided to burn some cds when there was no users. We then handed them out to people who were very grateful to be given free music. In the college it was mostly the same but with a higher amount of people in the area. Was good craic and hopefully the people will really enjoy the music they got!

"I shoved a c.d. in the bunny's mouth. ha ha!"

Jamie's Bunny Logos

Some more logos

Just a few ideas for the logo. The bottom middle one is suppose to be in a tutu holding a sparkler infront of the burnstation logo but damed if I was drawing that again!

Ok so its still not working! Here is a draft of the poster we could use to collect music anyway..
Claire

still no joy

as the title says. still no joy. apperantly kirsty from the other group has got a version of it working on her PC(Windows XP) but this is no good to us as we have to get it working on a Linux platform.

anyway, over and out for now.

So here's one of the first drafts of our poster advertising the event.... Which will take place in the Marshes in a few weeks......
We still have to decide on our logo etc. Won't be long now!!! o.0

so, here we are, still stuck at the burnstation, with no burnstation software installed. it sucks ass really as we would like to be able to get all of our music onto the computer and get things rolling, but no. we're stuck. like a big stuck in the mud...

so, heres a picture of Ian(sideways, turn your head, or your computer screen!) looking at the computer trying to figure out why it won't work.

over and out...for now.

Programming with Linux

Well Well then.

Myself Ian and Joanna had a stab today at installing the burnstation software onto the new machines (well, new would be a slight exaggeration, more like 20th century machines, but new to us!)

So, did we get it installed?

Eh, no.

turns out we think we need to downgrade our operating system in order to get the burnstation software running. The last time the burnstation software was updated was 2007, and for us to get it working, we need to have a 2007 version of Linux on our machine.

Stay tuned!
